Friday office “sneak-out” – escaping the storm.

A perfect afternoon trip from the center of Oslo to Svartskog kolonial for a quick coffee and bun. Nothing beats sneaking out of office early on a Friday when the wather forecast predicts sun – however, we were soon to find our selves in a summer storm comming from the North. The first shower came just as we were about to stop for coffee. Even if we tried to wait it out, we ended up being soaked before returing to Oslo…

Ride Report:

Start out from the city center of Oslo and head south on the East side of the fjord. Follow the E18 for the first approx 10k. Then take the old Mossey (Gamle Mossevei), and later right towards Hvervenbukta. When starting the climbe towards Svartskog (you will not be in doubt when starting the climb) look for the sign to Svarskog kolonial on a rock on the right side of the road.

On the way back – follow signs to Oslo, and you will soon be back on the E18

Bun review:

We had three cinnamon bus with a nice sprinkle of sugar on top, and four black coffees. The group found the bun to be slightly overcooked, although it was in general tasty. Taken into account that we were quite late to the coffeestop, we assume that the buns would have been even better at a earlier stage of the day. The filter coffee was above expected. Further, positve that we could sit under a roof, as the storm suddenly caught up with us.

Bun: 6/10

Coffee 7/10
